Chris Moneymaker is a legend of online poker. His contribution to online poker games is undeniable. He showed everybody that poker is a game that everyone can be successful in.

Chris Moneymaker (this is his actual name, not a pseudonym, his birth name being Christopher Bryan Moneymaker) was born on November the 21st 1975 in the city of Atlanta.

Chris Moneymaker truly lived up to his name. He was working as an accountant when he enrolled in an online poker tournament with a 39$ fee. He worked his way through the ranks and managed to qualify to the prestigious World Poker Tour in 2003.

Although the tournament was mostly attended by professional poker players, the novice and humble Chris Moneymaker actually won the tournament and the staggering prize of 2.5 million U.S. dollars!

This is what made him truly live up to his name. He is the real moneymaker, turning 39$ into 2.5 million.

Although Chris achieved this amazing performance, he didn’t only make money for himself. After his win on the 2003 World Poker Tour the online poker industry was booming and site owners were making a lot of money.

Today the situation changed little. Online poker tournaments present an opportunity for many people who want to make a buck.
